*Important Update from QMCC*
Following a lengthy period of prayer, and much discussion, for the health and safety of our campers and their families, we have decided to cancel all camp sessions for the summer of 2020. We know how hard it is for you to hear this news. Believe me, it is extraordinarily difficult to make this announcement. Please understand that this decision did not come lightly. We all wanted camp to continue. The state is just now beginning to open up and we don’t yet know what impact that will have. Camps are a part of their “Phase 3” process and does not occur until June 1 “if” all goes well in phases 1 and 2. Based on the information we have at this time we felt that the risks and liabilities associated with having camp far outweighed the benefits. And thus, the decision was made to close.
In the 61 years Quartz Mountain has been in operation this is the first time there will be no camp. It’s heartbreaking, but we have tremendous hope for the future. We serve a God that is greater than any disease, any crisis that man can face and He’s got this under control. We know that He has great plans for this camp too. We ask for your patience and understanding at this time. And we ask for your prayers. Prayers for the camp, for the board, for the camp managers, but especially for all of the campers, their counselors and directors, past, present and future. Without them there wouldn’t be any camp at all and our priority has always been to establish and confirm their faithfulness to God.
Please make plans to join us next year. We look forward to seeing you then. Until then, God bless you and keep you.
For the board,
Craig Dodgen
President, QMCC Board of Directors
